Director's statement

This was a piece formed by questions.

Each cast member is a woman of faith, and each one has questions about that faith.

What is real? What is true? Why am I not getting answers? Is there a God or Goddess? What if my faith is incorrect?  Why do I feel so alone? What is the point of all of this? Why isn't God helping me? What should I believe? Should I believe in something greater at all? Does this bring goodness into my life?

Over the course of eight weeks, we tackled these (and other) questions together, by researching, listening to, telling, and performing different stories of faith, from women who came before us. Some of these women received answers. Some did not. Likewise, some of us received answers throughout this process, and some did not.

We all, however, left this experience stronger because of those questions. And, we now have new friendships to sustain us when it feels like we're walking in the dark. 

We will keep on questioning.
